Defined by its exceptional natural beauty, both coastal and inland, West Dorset retains a rural charm that is quite unique to the constituency. The market towns of Bridport, Sherborne and the County Town of Dorchester are the inland urban focal points, with Lyme Regis, and its famous Cobb, being the major coastal conurbation in the very West of the County. The Constituency is home to a very significant National Trust land holding which has preserved much of the coastline’s unique natural beauty, including the famous Golden Cap Estate. As with South Dorset, Werst Dorset has a large section of the UNESCO Jurrasic Coast within the Constituency.
