Reform Our Defence Strategy

R

The United Kingdom has a long tradition of some of the finest, best trained and bravest Armed Forces in the world. We must ensure this continues in the face of ever changing threats, as shown by the war in Ukraine, the energy war and cyber warfare to name but a few.

It is vital that our Armed Forces have the people, training and best equipment to achieve this. Reform is needed to ensure more efficient joined up thinking and decision making, especially with regard to procurement of equipment; this is an area where the Ministry of Defence’s track record has sometimes let down Armed Forces personnel.

Reform is needed to our military covenant with our service personnel. A fully funded, comprehensive Office for Veteran Affairs is essential. Let’s properly protect our troops and veterans from unwarranted, never-ending legal claims. Let’s invest in properly equipping and housing our armed forces. Let’s invest in training our brave people for new jobs when they leave the services. Let’s provide the support they deserve in healthcare and mental health.

  • We have woefully underfunded our armed forces for decades
The headcount and equipment are below par and we are no longer being taken seriously as a country with a military to defend itself
There is no effort made at all to promote understanding and pride in our armed forces
The population at large has such a woke view of being able to appease aggressors, more worried about gender identity than possible threats, no appetite to defend …

    • Quite right Caroline. Plus for the last 10+ years our young people have been being taught that the history of Britain is racist, and one to be ashamed of.
Now we hear that there’s a recruiting crisis in the armed services – well what a surprise they’re finding it difficult to find young men willing to fight for it!

  • It’s an utter disgrace that our armed forces have been taken for granted and sidelined for so long…They all deserve the very best of everything the country can give them…The best moral support and funding for the very best weapons, ammunition and gear that the country can possibly supply…It is an appalling situation where military families have been left in substandard housing and far worse still where the government sees fit to house ever increasing illegal immigrants in hotels and other private property guaranteeing ‘landlords’ stable rent at the TAXPAYER’S EXPENSE and preventing ordinary UK citizenship from housing purchasing choices they are entitled to first..And worse still does nothing to deal with the human trafficking gangs aiding and abetting this repulsive uncontrolled activity.
Reform will end all this nonsensce and restore ordinary decent common sense and above all freedom of speech…There is a growing and very unsavoury percentage of the UK population than appaear to have been infected by didctatorship in the Labour party who appear to be committied to the destruction of these essential ingredients of our British way of life. This must be stopped.
